GranadaÂ
The city of Granada, located in eastern Andalusia at the foot of the Sierra Navada mountains, is the capital of the Province of Granada and was the last strong hold of the Moors in Spain. Â Like every city it Spain, it has a long and rich history and was also colonized by the Romans. Â The Arabs invaded in the 8th century and Granada was the last city to fall to the Christians in 1492.
Granada holds one of the most brilliant jewels of universal architecture, the Alhambra. The Alhambra is a series of palaces and gardens built by the Nazari Dynasty in the 14th century. Â The massive palace of Charles V stands at the center of the Alhambra and is an outstanding example of Spanish Renaissance architecture. There are so many things you won't want to miss in Granada: Â the Alhambra, the Cathedral including the Royal Chapel, the Monasterry of La Cartuja, the Sacromonte Hill -overlooking the city from the north, famous for its cave dwellings, and so much more.
