Barcelona, Catalunya's capital city, is an exciting place to visit with a fascinating history, rich culture and incredible food and wine. It is a place where visitors return time and time again.
Home to the modernist architect Gaudi's most famous works, Christopher Columbus' point of departure in 1492, incredible beaches, the Olympic City at Montjuic, an Old Port, and so much more, you'll definitely want to include it on your itinerary to Spain.
A great way to get to see some of the major highlights the city has to offer is take a tour we recommend called The Montjuic & Panoramic Tour.

It is a six hour tour that gives you an interesting overview of the city. This tour departs daily from the Plaza Catalunya, opposite the Tourist Office, at 12 noon daily except Dec. 25th, 26th, Jan. 1st and 6th.  An officially-licensed, English-speaking guide will accompany you on a comfortable air-conditioned bus.  This tour combines two areas of natural beauty, the Waterfront and Montjuic Hill.  The Waterfront is a great example of how the very old can be combined with the very modern.  You'll get to see the Olympic Port, the Old Port, the beaches, the Columbus Monument and then you'll be taken up to Montjuic Hill to the "look-out" for a spectacular view of the city.  On Montjuic, an old industrial area that was completely transformed for the 1992 Olympic Games, you'll see the Olympic Ring stadiums and the Joan Miró Foundation. You'll finish up your tour visiting the charming Poble Espanyol and have free time there for lunch.  The Poble Espanyol was built for the 1929 World's Fair and it has replicas of streets, monuments, squares and buildings from all around Spain. You'll be able to stay on at the Poble Espanyol as long as you like or you can return to the Plaza de Catalunya and link up with the Montserrat Tour. This is definitely a perfect way to see some of the best highlights of Barcelona. Â
