Excursion to Rioja Wine Country

8+ hours
160€ pp (for 4 people)
Includes entrances to wineries

Come with us as we explore the Rioja wine country, perhaps the most famous of Spain's wine-producing regions. On this Excursion to Rioja Wine Country, we'll tour the beautiful hilltop town of Laguardia and two bodegas, or wineries, have a typical Riojan lunch (not included) and admire the fabulous architecture of some of the new bodegas, designed by architects like Frank Gehry and Santiago Calatrava.

The Rioja wine region comprises part of the Basque Country and Navarra as well as all of La Rioja. The area has a long history of making wine using French traditions and local grapes. This tour explores the beautiful Basque part of the region, specifically the area around the dramatically situated town of Laguardia, which is surrounded by vineyards with the mountains of the Cordillera Cantábrica behind.
