Jen

Born in Colorado, she lived in Seattle most of her life. Jen manages our customer service department and guides and prepares travel packages for our clients. She has now been living in Spain since 2002 after living here for a year in 1997. Raising kids in Spain has given her a wealth of information and insights she loves to share with the avid traveler. While learning the Spanish ways, she tries to maintain her home traditions. Jen with her group visiting the windmills of La Mancha, the land of Don Quijote.

Our Experts

We select people who are passionate in their fields and know them in great detail. Whether it is a wine expert, pottery artisan or a birdwatcher, they enjoy sharing their knowledge with you. They are often the first ones representing our company. Our role is creating a liaison between you and them. Their knowledge and dedication help to make your trip the best!

Our Local Guides

We believe guidebooks are extremely helpful, however nothing can take the place of an experienced, local and personable guide. Our philosophy is to bring you close to the culture in the most direct and non-touristy way and to save you time, and we think guided tours are a great way to acheive this. Our guides give you information, tips and tools that you can then use as jumping-off points to make your own discoveries. For this reason, we believe  that the extra cost of local guides in certain towns or cities is minimal compared to the full expense of your trip.  In fact, if you had to choose between 4-star hotels and no guides or 3-star hotels with some guided tours, we would highly recommend the latter.

We are committed to offering you the best guided tours and service out there. Our guides:

  • are very knowledgeable in art and history
  • will also share their insight on culinary and craft traditions
  • communicate clearly in english
  • are personable and helpful
  • will go out of their way to give you tips for getting the most out of your experience
  • will give you a balance between blockbuster sites and smaller more undiscovered places
  • will give you a close-up look at how locals live

Culture

We like to visit small operations and factories that use traditional techniques and materials to give our clients a glimpse into the authentic old way of doing things. Whether we explore the manufacturing of marzipan, olive oil, wine, cheese or any other delicacy, we like to stay close to the art and the quality.
During festivals, Spanish people celebrate their ancestors' customs by paying homage to their traditions. While many are religious, the pagan ones are just as fun. You do not need to hit the big ones to experience Spain. We encourage and facilitate going to smaller places where the festivals are still "owned" by locals and not overcrowded with tourists.

We love to share our culture, provide you with unforgettable travel experiences and bring you closer to the locals. Our tours mix history, exquisite food and natural beauty, seeking the uncommon and connecting you with Spain.
